To me, there is magic in colour and much of my work is inspired by the unexpected colours we find all around us...with a little observation! Learning to paint has shown me that, not everything is as it seems; shadows can be rich blue and purple, water can be green and gold, and a white flower is often lilac and mint-green in the shade.

Growing up in regional Perth, I spent most of my childhood outside exploring. I would collect rocks, feathers and flowers as I hiked through the bushland. That childlike wonder of exploration is something I try to tap into with my work - exploring the colour and light of the world around me.

I primarily work in oils, although I started my painting journey with gouache and watercolour. Over time, I fell in love with the luminosity that oils provide and so they have a special place in my heart.
