Sunday Sketch Club: Camcare in July

Writer's picture: Rachel GroveRachel Grove

This month, Sunday Sketch Club visited the very beautiful (and peaceful) community garden, grown and maintained by Camcare. I am so grateful to the very lovely Kelli for taking time out of her weekend to show us around and introduce us all to the amazing work that Camcare does.

For decades, Camcare has been providing essential services to support vulnerable members of the local community. Their work spans across mental health support, emergency relief, and offering resources for individuals and families in need.

The Camcare Community Garden, where we gathered for our sketching session, is one of their key initiatives. It's not just a garden; it’s a space designed to foster social inclusion, well-being, and sustainability. People from all walks of life come here to grow fresh produce, learn new skills, and find a sense of belonging through gardening.

Sketching at Camcare’s Community Garden was a reminder of the powerful connection between nature, art, and community. The garden itself serves as a symbol of hope and growth, embodying Camcare’s mission to cultivate not just plants but also relationships and resilience within the local area.
